Stoke Alert: December Powder Hits Banff & Lake Louise

The pow is back in town!! Our favourite form of flakes have paid us a visit once again here in Banff, Canada. With a fresh snowfall of up to 24 cms blanketing parts of Banff National Park in 24 hours, skiers and snowboarders are ready to go full send into the holiday season at SkiBig3.

15 cms brimmed the back bowls of Lake Louise Ski Resort by Wednesday morning, priming some backside runs for the first turns of the season. The gates to Whitehorn 1 were opened, treating winter enthusiasts to deep, delicious, and untouched turns. At Banff Sunshine Village, 17cms of fluffy flakes graced their mountain faces on Wednesday, topped up to 24 the following day, bringing it to a Friday total of 48cms. Over a five-day period, Lake Louise Ski Resort saw 52cms. Mt. Norquay saw 15cms within the past week, to the delight of locals and visitors alike.

And there’s more where that came from. Our light and dry Canadian Rockies snow kept falling throughout the weekend, with even more forecasted into the third week of December. Get your powder skis ready to shred!
